Digital Recording Arts 1

This class is for people interested in learning music production techniques in a professional recording studio. You will have hands-on learning opportunities on pro gear from the start.

You will learn how to mic up a drum set, an acoustic guitar, a violin... also learn how to make a high quality podcast, and work with Reason 3.0 software for drum programming and midi sequencing.

An excellent class for those building a career in audio engineering & wanting to open up the door to a whole range of opportunities in the world of audio production. Also, great for anyone with a home studio wanting to make the most of what they have.


Topics Include:
ProTools ~ Software & Hardware Overview.

Basic Digital Audio Theory/Signal Routing in ProTools

• Mixing, Equalization(EQ), Compression, Effects & more!

• Loop Based Sampling & Mixing Techniques.

• Microphone Techniques ~ on a variey of instruments.

• Studio Acoustics, Sound Safety & Critical Listening   Skills Developmnent.

• Professional Studio Etiquette.


Digital Recording Arts 1 Fees

$880 per student (equivalent to $18.50/hour)
An eight-week class series.
Taught in the studio by Chief Engineer Michael Logue.

A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is needed to secure a position in the class.


Class Hours:
A 3 hr. class every Tuesday From 6:30pm-9:30pm
for 8 consecutive weeks, plus a 3 hr. lab/session every other week.(includes four 3 hour recording sessions)
